How Do the JURA ENA 8, E8, and Z10 Differ?

Published · By the Espresso Shortlist editors · Prices and specs as of that date, from the pages under Sources

Summary

Mostly in size, milk system, and whether the machine makes cold drinks. The ENA 8 is the smallest, with 15 specialties, a 1.1-liter tank, and 125 g of beans. The E8 is almost exactly as wide but offers 27 specialties and holds far more water and beans. The Z10 is 2 inches wider, makes 51 specialties across hot, light, cold, and sweet drinks, and stores preferences for up to four people.

Height is where the ENA 8 and E8 part ways

The two are within a tenth of an inch in width and depth, so on paper the E8 fits wherever the ENA 8 does. The difference is height. Under wall cabinets with 13 inches of clearance, the 12.7-inch ENA 8 slides in and the 13.7-inch E8 doesn't. In exchange the E8 adds Light Brew, served at what JURA calls a pleasant temperature, a sweet foam function, and a coffee timer. For the app, JURA notes that the E8 needs the optional Wi-Fi Connect V2 to use J.O.E. features.

What the Z10 adds

The Z10's grinder adjusts to a coarse grind for longer drinks and Cold Brew specialties, and JURA sells an optional Cold Brew Nitro Kit for it. Up to four people can save their own settings, a Caffeine Regulator is built in, and the coffee timer can be set up to 16 hours ahead. It is also the only one of the three made in Switzerland. JURA lists the ENA 8 and E8 as made in Portugal.
